3 Favourites-East of Palma

There are endless good restaurants in Majorca, but it seems like you only hear of the ones that are situated in central Palma. We know many of our golfing clients stay right outside of Palma, at the lovely Mac Garonda5*** or UR Portofino 4***, and that’s why we want to recommend some great restaurants close to this area.

Piadina e Vino

Piadina e Vino is a nice Italian restaurant which is located next to the long beach walk that goes all the way from S’Arenal in to Palma center. The staff here is great, and know their menu and their wines back and forth. If you want to try the best thing on the menu, ask them what they would recommend you.

The name of the restaurant comes from a light speciality that the restaurant serves, piadina. Piadina is a kind of italien flatbread from the Romagna region, and is typically served with different types of cheese, cold cuts and vegetables, but also with sweeter fillings such as Nutella or jams. Perfect for a lighter lunch!

Restaurante Casa Fernando

Are you looking for a really great fish restaurant, with a relaxed atmosphere where you feel right at home? Casa Fernando is a real hidden gem, which has been in business since 1980.

The most special thing with this restaurant is the lack of menus. When you enter you see a big, chilled glass cabinet, filled with fish, shellfish and vegetables, and you simply order by pointing to the type of fish and condiments that you want. When you’ve chosen you will be charged by the kilo, as per prices on the fish market. Behind the cabinet you will see the chef preparing the dishes.

A different and tasty experience. The staff here knows their wines very well, so do ask them what they recommend.

Sa Farinera

Sa Farinera is a real hidden gem for those of you who really appreciate a good piece of meat and a great atmosphere.

The restaurant is near the airport and the highway and is very easy to find. Once here you will certainly be impressed by the incredible cozy yard. Sa Farinera was formerly a windmill, which has been converted to one of Mallorca's best restaurants.

It's an incredibly popular restaurant, so to call and reserve a table is recommended. Would you like to come here spontaneously, go for it! The staff is incredibly helpful, and almost always manage to conjure up some extra tables.

For those of you who truly appreciate good meat you have come to paradise. The menu is well laid out, and the meat is fantastic. After having ordered the waiter comes out with the pieces of meat chosen, so you can approve them before they are thrown on the grill, where it will be cooked to juicy perfection. To accompany the meat, order a side dish, like potatoes or grilled vegetables, which are fantastic.
